Guild of St Raphael

The Guild of St Raphael: the branch of the Guild at St Nicholas is linked to the world wide organisation which is named after the angel who had the particular responsibility of bringing Healing.

The members observe a simple rule of prayer, study and work to promote Christ's ministry of healing, both for the physical body and the whole person.

The Prayer Requests on the Intercessions Board are circulated among the members each week, and along with the confidential requests are placed in the St Raphael Guild Box, carried up to the altar at the 10.00 am Eucharist each Sunday.

The sacramental act of the Laying on of Hands is available with our Chaplain, Rev'd Nigel Paterson, or a member of the Guild on the Second Sunday every month during the 10.00 am Eucharist.

During the year a special Service on the theme of Healing is held on a Sunday evening at 6.30 pm.

The members of the Guild meet once a month to explore with their Chaplain aspects of human difficulty that challenge Christian teaching and need prayer, healing and understanding.  At this meeting they share the needs of those people who have ask for support through Prayer, either directly to members or on the Intercessions Board.

Anyone is welcome to join with the members, and details of the meetings can be obtained from the Vicar or their Secretary: Elizabeth Hargest: 01692 405 650
